As a loving legacy to their parents Dale and Harold, children Vicki, Dennis and Steve Topletz established this scholarship to help students obtain higher education and become successful and caring citizens.
Created by the Foundation Trustees of Alpha Epsilon Phi (AEPhi) to honor the service of Dana Parkans Katz (Epsilon Eta, Emory University). Priority is given to members active in the Greek community and majoring in education or math.
The Fund is intended to benefit students, preferably Jewish, to help subsidize the expense of a college education, to be disbursed at the rate of $2,000 per year to a different student each year. Priority is given to students who are connected to the Capital District.
The Baumgardt Fellowship provides grants of up to $7,500 for Ph.D. candidates working on topics such as ethics, Wissenschaft des Judentums, or the modern intellectual history of German Jews. Applicants must be affiliated with an accredited institution of higher education and currently be enrolled in a Ph.D. program.
David L. Goodman established a scholarship fund for the purpose of making a measurable, positive difference in deserving students' lives by easing their financial burdens. Four scholarships are awarded each year in the amount of $5,280 each.More information coming July 1st.
The David Sorkin Scholarship provides a $1000 grant to support graduate student research in Modern Jewish history, with a preference for Modern European Jewish history.
The David V. Karney Israel Travel Scholarship supports Boston University students with outstanding academic records pursuing study abroad, research, and other approved activities in Israel.
Ira Silverman and Paula Donovitz established this scholarship for Jewish students from small communities in Texas. This award is for Jewish students from small Jewish communities and towns, as defined as communities with two or fewer Jewish congregations.
*Not exclusively for high school seniors, open to ages 13-19. Students with exemplary records of leadership in community service are encouraged to apply for the Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Award. Up to 15 students age 13-19 are selected based on nomination by a member of the community. Recipients of the award may use their award money towards education, or further philanthropic efforts.
