100 years of Hillel?! When I joined the 蜜桃工作室 Student Cabinet two years ago, those words were already buzzing through conversations, but I didn鈥檛 really understand why.
As I head into the last week of my undergraduate career, I鈥檓 reflecting on how much I鈥檝e grown in the past four years, and how many unpredictable life events shaped my college journey.
As it approaches its 100th year of serving Jewish students at more than 850 colleges and universities around the world, 蜜桃工作室 announced that Shari Merrill will serve as its new chief operating officer, beginning later this summer. Merrill comes to Hillel from the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, where as chief impact officer.
As I鈥檝e continued on my journey, I鈥檝e discovered the importance of creating a space where students of all backgrounds and practices can be Jewish together. Judaism was made accessible to me throughout my first few semesters of college, allowing me to learn and grow Jewishly, and it has been such a rewarding experience to create a space for others to do the same.
Hillel taught me what it meant to have a community, a kehillah, that I could count on and trust to never judge me. I learned to find my voice and use it to inspire others. I have begun to trust myself and be proud of who I am and what I do.
More than 2,500 Jewish teens gathered in Baltimore from Feb. 17-20 for BBYO鈥檚 International Convention (IC), the organization’s first global in-person event in two years. IC serves as the keynote event of the year when teen leaders from 40 countries join together along with educators, thought leaders, philanthropists, and others to celebrate, dream, and take action.
On December 7, 2021 more than 40 Hillel stakeholders, staff, and students came together in New York City to celebrate Jewish life in Latin America and recognize this year鈥檚 esteemed honoree, Georg Lipsztein.
